At dawn, vapors rise from the coffee plantations of the Bolovens plateau while the chants of monks echo through thousand-year-old Khmer temples. This circuit first crosses Thai Isaan, a little-known region where the sanctuaries of Prasat Hin Phimai and Phanom Rung stand, remnants of the Angkor empire. The craftsmen of Phibun shape their ancestral gongs, the weavers of Ban Nong Ta Kai spin silk according to gestures passed down from generation to generation.
The journey continues in Laos, on the cool heights of the Bolovens plateau where the Laven and Taoy peoples cultivate the finest arabicas of the peninsula. The waterfalls of Tad Pha Suam cascade down the volcanic slopes, Soviet jeeps wind between ethnic villages. Further south, the archipelago of 4000 islands stretches its arms of land into the brown waters of the Mekong, near the roaring Khone Phapheng falls.
This border region reveals a forgotten chapter of Indochina, where the Suay ethnic groups perpetuate their traditions and where time seems suspended between two worlds.

Welcome to Thailand!
Vers Bangkok
Welcome from our team upon your arrival at the airport from where we leave directly towards the Thai countryside. We settle in the surroundings of Saraburi, a small town located north-east of Bangkok where we will enjoy a splendid setting to gently recover from the journey.
Khmer Temple Visit
A long day of driving awaits us, with several exceptional stops along the way. We first head towards Nakhon Ratchasima, before reaching the Khmer temple site of Prasat Hin Phimai which we visit.
We will then head to the small village of Ban Nong Ta Kai. Specialized in silkworm breeding and weaving, our contact, Khun Prappai, will reveal to us all the techniques of spinning, to dyeing.
Buriram Discovery
Today, we head to the great temples of the ''royal way'' of Khmer temples in Thailand, with the 2 major sites of Prasat Phnom Rung andPrasat Muang Tam.
Discovery of Ubon Ratchathani
A new day that brings us closer to the Laotian border. Road to Ubon Ratchathani, capital of its province.
When we arrive in Ubon Ratchathani, we visit Wat Thung Si Muang, a wooden temple on stilts. It is possible to visit the amazing Wat Phra That Nong Bua temple, with its atypical architecture.
Finally, before reaching our final destination of the day Khong Chiam, we stop at the village of Phibun, famous for its gong manufacturing. Meeting with its artisans.
Pha Taem Park
This part of the country is full of natural beauty. We take time to discover them today. Located on the banks of the Mekong, we set off to explore the Pha Taem National Park. Along the way, we stop at the Sao Chaliang site to observe its mushroom-shaped rock formations.
Then, further on, we take a walk along the cliffs, which offer us beautiful views of the Mekong below. We continue beyond the trail and then discover rock paintings that are 3000 years old.
If the season permits (November to May only), we will visit the extraordinary site of Sam Phan Bok, notably called the "3000 holes".
The Bolaven Plateau
Khong Chiam → Paksong
We bid farewell to our accompanying team to welcome our English-speaking Laotian guide. A quick orientation tour of the largest city in southern Laos, Paksé.
Then you will depart for the Bolovens Plateau, renowned for its waterfalls, its fertile lands offering the best teas and coffees in the country and even in the Indochinese peninsula. You will not miss a few tastings, on the advice of your guide. We will make several stops, notably at the Tad Pha Suam and Tad Lo waterfalls.
Lunch in a local restaurant near Tad Lo, before heading to Thatheng and its ethnic villages (Lao Loum, Taoy, Lavenh…).
Near Thatheng, you will pass through the Mai Savanh farm. This farm is distinguished by its commitment to sustainable and community development with the villagers of the region.
Day trip by 4x4 in the Boloven Plateau
Depuis Paksong
Hotel breakfast before heading to Paksong (around 9am). The Bolaven Plateau is an elevated region that extends across the provinces of Champassak, Salavan, Xekong and Attapeu in southern Laos. This morning, head to Ban Beng, a small locality nestled in the heart of the Bolaven Plateau.
Meet Mr Khamsone - local tour guide - and climb into one of his "vintage jeeps" from the Soviet and Russian era to take a ride along a rustic trail that crosses the local bush and rolling farmland.
In the afternoon, visit his coffee plantation to learn more about the production process. Then, continue hiking towards Phoukatouk mountain.
Vers Paksong
Late afternoon, return to the host family.
Meeting the Suay
9am: After breakfast, depart for an active hike and visit a Laven village to discover its lifestyle and daily life based around agriculture. 11am: Continue by jeep to Bamboo Waterfall.
12pm: Arrival at Bamboo Waterfall and break for a picnic + swimming & relaxation. (Fruits and drinks are provided). 1:15pm: Continue trekking for 1 hour to Dan Xinxai and enjoy the views.
3:15pm: Transfer by jeep to the "Lak 40" site to visit tea processing and roasting. Resume the van and drive to your hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight on the Boloven Plateau.
The "4000 Islands"
Depuis Paksong
This morning we will head early towards the impressive twin waterfalls of Tad Fane, as well as the Tas Yuang and Tad Champee cascades. Then, we'll head due south towards Ban Kakasang, before boarding a motorized canoe that will take us among the "4000 islands" of the Mekong.
You will reach the islands of Done Det and Done Khone, peaceful lands with a very marked French colonial past featuring its buildings, its bridge connecting the 2 islands as well as its railway line that allowed goods to be transported on either side of the cataracts. Check-in at your hotel.
Bicycle retrieval with local charm and today on the agenda, will you venture along the sandy paths of the islands of Don Det and Don Khone accompanied by your guide! You will pass along flat paths that will lead you to must-see sites such as making a stop at a few emblematic sites like that of the antique locomotive, at the 13-arch bridge which dates from the French colonial era of the early twentieth century.

Detour via Khone Phapheng Falls and Wat Phu
Vers Champassak
Breakfast and crossing to reach mainland before driving towards the Khone Phapheng waterfalls, further south, at the Cambodian border. They are among the most impressive cascades in this region of Asia. We will leisurely make our way back up to the village of Champassak which we will reach late morning.
Beautiful mansions still stand, often left abandoned. It will then be time to explore the jewel of southern Laos: Vat Phou temple, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. Its style is pre-Angkorian.
After discovering the site, we can peacefully admire the sunset over the region. Short transfer to your resort, with its pool overlooking the river.

The "Venice of the Orient"
Morning departure to reach the pier and take public water buses to head towards the center, on the right bank and the Pak Khlong Talat flower market district.
You set out to discover the architectural gems of Bangkok. Be amazed by the splendor of the Grand Palace of Bangkok, built in 1782: a sumptuous complex of buildings and inner courtyards, including Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha). You will discover the famous Emerald Buddha, a precious statue dating from the 14th century, at the heart of one of the most venerated sanctuaries in the country.
Then, on foot, you reach Wat Pho, one of Bangkok's oldest temples, renowned for its peaceful atmosphere and elegant pavilions. You discover the impressive Reclining Buddha, an iconic figure of the site, as well as the interior courtyards dotted with stupas and refined decorative details.
Then, you cross the river aboard a small boat to reach Wat Arun, the famous "Temple of Dawn", standing on the right bank. Upon arrival, you admire its spectacular central prang, finely decorated with porcelain mosaics and floral patterns that shimmer in the light.
Cruise aboard a traditional private "long-tail" boat-taxi on the Chao Praya river, one of the country's most important waterways and a vital artery of Bangkok. As you drift along the water, you discover the "Venice of the East," with peaceful klongs, stilt houses and small temples hidden along the banks.
