Thai Delicacies

After lunch, we head out to discover the historic center of Ayutthaya. We explore in particular the Wat Mahathat, a major temple dating from the late 14th century, famous for the Buddha head entwined in the roots of a tree, which has become one of the symbols of the site.

The visit continues to the Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, a former royal temple and the largest in the ancient capital, recognizable by its elegant aligned chedis that bear witness to the past grandeur of the kingdom.

Finally, we discover the Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, renowned for its impressive reclining Buddha and its peaceful atmosphere, offering a beautiful conclusion to this immersion in the heart of Siamese history.

This morning, we start the day with a visit to the Baan Saladin agrotourism village, where you will discover the process of making the famous puffed rice cakes, before being able to enjoy a tasting.

We then continue our adventure with an exploration of the great Maha Sawat canal, once used to supply Bangkok markets. Aboard a boat, we will enjoy a peaceful ride through its waters, while observing local wildlife and feeding the fish.

Back on dry land, we will visit a fruit garden, where you can admire the gac fruit plantations and discover the making of various products based on this unique fruit.

We will end this morning with a stop on a lake where magnificent lotus flowers bloom, offering a peaceful landscape to contemplate.

We then head to Nakhon Pathom, which is home to the Wat Phra Pathom Chedi, Thailand's tallest stupa.

Départ pour la gare et embarquement vers 10h40 dans le fameux ''train de la mort'' rendu célèbre par l'histoire du film ''le pont de la rivière Kwai'', pour environ 1 heure de train vers l'Ouest et la région de SaiYok, située à 70 km à l'ouest à l'extrémité de la ligne de train.

Après le déjeuner, nous passons l'après-midi à "Elephant Haven". Sur place, nous achetons des paniers de fruits (non compris – environ 3 euro le panier), friandises des pachydermes.
En début d'après-midi, nous profitons d'un moment d'exception : la baignade avec les Élephants ! Retour en fin d'après-midi à Kanchanaburi.

Departure in the morning for the national park and the Erawan waterfalls (63 km drive). This national park is home to a superb waterfall spanning 7 levels, forming natural pools with emerald blue waters populated by Mahseer barbels. If you prefer to stay around the first 3 levels, the easiest to access, and swim there, a climb to the 7th level, while not difficult, is rewarding: La Phu Pha Erawan, with the final waterfall being the most majestic spot in the area.

We then head to Nakhon Pathom, which is home to the Wat Phra Pathom Chedi, Thailand's tallest stupa.

Early morning arrival at Surat Thani railway station (08:32). We are welcomed by our driver, who will take us to Khao Sok National Park. At the station, or on the way, we will have our breakfast. (not included).

We then head to Chiew Larn Lake where a boat awaits us to transfer us to our floating accommodation. We have some free time to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the lake.

In the late afternoon, enjoy a final boat excursion to watch the sunset. Return to the floating complex for dinner. Magical night in a stilt bungalow at Greenery Panvaree resort

This morning, safari to observe the surrounding wildlife, then return to the bungalow for our morning snack. We have some free time to enjoy the lake waters, with the possibility of canoeing. After breakfast, we leave this place to return to the mainland. We are welcomed by our driver, who will now take us to the Jungle section of Khao Sok National Park.

15:00 - Half-day educational hike in the jungle. An opportunity to learn more about the fauna and flora of the National Park. (3 hours). Activity accompanied by a local English-speaking guide in a small group.

We settle in for 2 nights at The Leaf Oceanside in a leaf room.

Today we set off for a day trip by boat that will take us to the Similan Islands. This small archipelago 65 km from the coast is a true paradise for lovers of white sandy beaches and divers.

With mask and snorkel, you will be able to enjoy extremely rich marine life in the coral reefs. Activity carried out within a group of travelers. English-speaking guide.

Transfer to your hotel and rest. Check-in at Shanghai Mansion, a charming boutique hotel in the heart of Bangkok's Chinese quarter.

This evening, a different vision of Bangkok awaits us during a 3-hour night cycling tour through the alleys of this lively Thai capital. In the cool of the evening, we will first explore the glittering Chinese quarter with its thousand lights as well as Bangkok's famous flower market before heading north, along the Chao Praya, to reach the older part of the city, as well as across the river to the Thonburi district. Activity in a small group accompanied by an English-speaking local guide.

Morning departure to reach the pier and take public water buses heading towards the center, on the right bank and the Pak Khlong Talat flower market district. We begin our day with a visit to the Grand Palace of Bangkok, built in 1782, which includes several magnificent buildings, including Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), which contains a magnificent Emerald Buddha dating from the 14th century. Then, on foot we head to Wat Pho, one of the oldest temples in Bangkok, to discover its Reclining Buddha. We then cross the river with a small boat to visit Wat Arun, the "Temple of Dawn", located on the right bank.

At the end of the day, your driver takes you to the airport for your return international flight. Allow for an extra night in Bangkok on day 11 if early morning flight

Accompanied by your guide, you head to the docks and board a public river bus. As you travel along the water, you make your way upstream towards the historic center on the right bank, as far as the flower market of Pak Khlong Talat. Stroll through the fragrant alleys and experience your first immersion in authentic and traditional Asia.

Then, on foot, you reach Wat Pho, one of Bangkok's oldest temples, renowned for its peaceful atmosphere and elegant pavilions. You discover the impressive Reclining Buddha, an emblematic figure of the place, as well as the interior courtyards dotted with stupas and refined decorative details.

You will discover the architectural jewels of Bangkok. Marvel at the splendor of the Grand Palace of Bangkok, built in 1782: a sumptuous complex of buildings and inner courtyards, including Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha). You will discover the famous Emerald Buddha, a precious statue dating from the 14th century, at the heart of one of the most revered sanctuaries in the country.

Then you cross the river aboard a small boat to reach Wat Arun, the famous "Temple of Dawn", standing on the right bank. Upon arrival, you admire its spectacular central prang, finely decorated with porcelain mosaics and floral motifs that glitter in the light.

Ride aboard a traditional private long-tail boat on the Chao Praya River, one of the country's most important waterways and a true lifeline of Bangkok. As you cruise along the water, you discover the "Venice of the Orient", with peaceful klongs, stilt houses and small temples nestled along the riverbanks.
